It was a regular day, a Tuesday maybe. I was sitting at a desk in an office working away. A coworker comes into the office saying he just saw on Facebook a video of Jerusalem where you can hear trumpets all over the city. He says, I think Jesus might be here!

The Bible says this is a sign that Jesus is coming to get his church. A trumpet will sound announcing His return and Jesus’ followers will be raised (don’t take my word for it, you can read about this yourself at 1 Corinthians 15:52).

Trumpets of Faith (and Doubt)

I stood up and looked outside but saw no one flying through the air. Why was I not flying? Then I thought are there any believers who live right here? I didn’t think there were, so I asked the crowd that had gathered, “Do you think we need to go outside?”

This was a joke video someone had posted but it made me realize something. I am a believer. I truly believe in Jesus Christ and all that the bible says. I know this sounds funny coming from a missionary but anyone with deep faith has been through periods of deep doubt, too. Don’t let them tell you any different.

Some days I feel crazy; like a crazy person. It just seems insane that the God who created everything would be interested in me. There are days I think this can’t possibly be true, I don’t really believe that do I? Then someone posts a video of Jerusalem with trumpets blaring and I know for sure that I do.
